Effiency of waiters/waitresses during breakfast The check in staff seemed very uninterested in their job and guests.We were not told on the use of the key into the energy saving device. The light didn't work outside the room so we couldn't see.As the heating only works when the key is inserted , the room was cold, damp and smelly.There was mould growing in the bathroom.When checking out we were charged breakfast at two different rates for the s |

The setting and 'stately home'appearance is impressive. The dinner menu, service and food quality was excellent: it was like a separate organisation from the main hotel. The spa isn't bad but it's completely separate building from the main hotel. This hotel has, in the main, gone downhill big time. It used to be lovely but sadly it has now hit rock bottom. Seedy-looking, dated decor, dirty rooms, minimal facilities in the rooms, staff who appear to have had no training in customer relations, and the internet was non-existent. Seems to thrive on high-turnover conference traffic At over £200 per night b&b it is an appalling rip-off. |

The staff, while very polite, was thoroughly incapable of helping us with basic things like directions to the city, recommendations or simple problems - we had to have a big problem (which we had) to be able to access internet and dial local numbers. We might as well have talked to the cleaning lady for better help. |
