With its Iridia Meeting & Celebrating Center the hotel royal astrid has 13 unique meeting rooms where we can receive up to 300 people. A meeting followed by workshops and stay-over can be organized in the same building. Large party's and dinners can be arranged.

Food & beverage

The bar of the hotel is open every day from 11:00 until 00:30

In our stylish Mozart restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious meal. There is no choice menu and we can only serve our half board and full board menus (only on reservation). In the surrounding area of the hotel, you'll find typical fish and meat restaurants. Every Sunday we have a brunch.

Room information

The Royal Astrid has 119 comfortably decorated rooms, including large family rooms and studios with kitchenette. In addition to the listed facilities, all rooms have private bathroom and private safe. For our non-smoking guests, we have a non-smoking floor in the hotel.

Area information

The hotel is situated 50 meters from Ostende's beautiful sandy beach and in walking distance from the citycenter and in front of the municipal swimming-pool. (5 to 10 min). This center and other coastal towns can be reached with the tram which has a stop in front of the hotel. Ostende is 15km from Bruges one of the most beautiful towns of Belgium and can be reached by the highway.

The mix of different languages/Nationalities; all very friendly. They were happy ot see people with dogs and bikes (all allowed into the hotel).

Very warm everywhere. No airconditioning, so I would have liked to see large fans provided in the rooms, and the restaurant/bar areas.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The breakfast is great value, with a choice of hot or cold (or both for the big eater). The hotel is well located for the beach (about 50m) and town is only a short walk. Parking in the underground car park is not cheap, but is cheaper than the street parking. Rooms are reasonably sized with free safe.

The breakfast room can and usually is very crowded. The pool and sauna only open from 9.00-12.00 & 15.00-19.00, so early morning and late night swims are out, pool can be very crowded.

The woman staff as we were checking out. She was very friendly and personable.

Pool/Sauna hours were very inconvenient. Parking was offered on the website, but when we checked in, parking was not available. We were told to check out by 10AM..a bit too early..Carpet stains in the room.

as we did not have an evening meal at the restaurant we can not comment on the food, but if the breakfast was anything to go by I would imagine the food to be of a high standard.

we booked a double room, but on arrival were allocated a twin room. when you went down the stairs instead of using the lift, there was a horrible smell on the ground floor as you came through the staiwell lift. the leisure facilities were not as they appeared in the reviews, the swimming pool was only just bigger than a plunge pool snd there were restrictions on time of use.

breakfast - I am vegetarian and inclined to natural food - the only choice for me was fruit and honey and tea. Some unproccesed cereal (like oatflakes, for example, no sugar or additives added) would have been welcome.
