In leafy South Kensington, this classic Georgian townhouse was totally restored in 2004 and now houses a luxurious and elegant 4-star hotel, just a few Underground stops from the heart of London.

In a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, the Cranley Hotel has a superb location. Within walking distance of many of London's main attractions, this boutique hotel is just a short stroll from the museums of South Kensington and the fantastic shops of Knightsbridge and the King's Road.

This carefully preserved, listed building houses 39 brand new, sympathetically refurbished rooms. Each room features antique furnishings, original prints and high-speed internet access.

Complimentary Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the lobby and in the hotel’s public areas.

Guests receive a free welcome drink upon arrival. Complimentary afternoon tea is served daily between 16:00 and 17:00. A free glass of champagne is available every evening, between 19:00 and 20:00.

The hotel’s friendly and helpful team are happy to help you make the most of your stay. Staff can help make reservations for restaurants; book tickets for theatre shows or make arrangements for cars or limousines.

The newly refurbished Penthouse Meeting Room is situated on the hotel’s top floor and can accommodate meetings for up to 12 delegates. The room is 30 m² in area and has 2 large windows, ensuring it receives plenty of natural light. The room is air conditioned and has direct access to a boutique private terrace.

The hotel’s Interview Room is slightly smaller, with a total area of 15m². The Interview Room is adjacent to the meeting room and is ideal for interviews or as a break-out room. This room can accommodate meetings for up to 4 people.

Both rooms are fully air-conditioned with individual temperature controls. The rooms both have natural light and are extremely quiet. Flipcharts, direct phone connections and audiovisual equipment are all available and both rooms have free high-speed internet access via wired broadband, as well as Wi-Fi wireless internet access.

Room information

This small boutique hotel has 39 luxurious rooms, each elegantly decorated and furnished. The décor features an attractive Regency-style palette, in striking combinations of Chinese blue, mustard, plum and stone, using Farrow and Ball paints. These colours were chosen to echo those used in the original 19th century floor tiles in the hotel’s entrance hall. Beds are handcrafted and are covered in hand-stitched Irish linens and wools. The rooms boast antique mahogany furniture, period oil paintings and brass fittings. The rooms’ original features and period style are subtly combined with state-of-the-art technology, modern comforts and the most up-to-date facilities.

Whether you are exploring London for leisure or visiting the capital on business, the luxurious, elegant and peaceful rooms provide a relaxing haven.

Area information

The Cranley Hotel is situated in one of the most sought-after locations in London, South Kensington. The hotel is close to the very centre of the city centre and within easy walking distance of many of London’s attractions.

Kensington gardens and Hyde Park are close by, as are the Royal Albert Hall and the Earl's Court and Olympia exhibition centres. The Cranley is also close to Notting Hill, the Serpentine Gallery and Kensington Palace.

A number of London's best-known museums, such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum in Exhibition Road, are nearby. The Cranley is also close to the boutiques and restaurants of Knightsbridge and King's Road, Chelsea.

Gloucester Road and South Kensington London Underground stations are a few minutes’ walk away. The stations providing fast, easy access to locations all around London, including the West End and all its theatres and The City, London's financial centre. South Kensington London Underground station also provides direct access to London Heathrow Airport, via a 30-minute Tube journey.

Victoria and Paddington railway stations are just 2 miles (3.2 km) from the hotel. Paddington's Heathrow Express train provides a fast, convenient service to Heathrow Airport and Victoria station's Gatwick Express train service connects directly to Gatwick Airport.

Very good location

The Hotel looks in the website to be more than it is. We travel a lot but were not impressed. We stayed in Stein Hotels before. This Hotel could be a jewel but needs to be renovated. Rooms were a little stuffy and the aircondioning did not provide any fresh air, just noise.

Elegimos este hotel porque habíamos estado ya, un mes en una ocasión, con experiencia positiva entonces.

Resulta incómodo subir y bajar tantas escaleras cada vez que sales o entras. En el cuarto de baño le faltan cosas básicas; por ejemplo espejo de aumento o secador o, en su defecto, enchufe. Es incomodísimo utilizar el secador en el "habitáculo" bar/vestidor. No tiene servicio de planchado en la habitación contrariamente a lo que se dice en la web. La habitación tiene una iluminación muy triste y carece de encanto.
