Located in the hip Vesterbrogade area in central Copenhagen just a few minutes walk from Tivoli and the Central station this wonderfully designed lifestyle hotel is a real oasis in central Copenhagen. The Vesterbro area has lots of cafés, small shops and old characteristic houses. Getting fascinated is almost inevitable; the streets are characterized by life and variety.

All rooms are furnished and decorated in Guldsmedens signature designer Balinese style, combining the utmost in comfort, luxury and original art. In all rooms you will find our own signature organic shampoo and cream products. Furthermore the rooms all have different design details, such as bathtubs and furnished balconies, every room is unique.

The concept for the Guldsmeden hotels is unique, and a very important feature is the focus on ecology and organic products. In all rooms you will find Guldsmedens own manufactured organic shampoo and cream products.

Each morning the reception area on the first floor is transformed into an intimate little café, where our exceptional breakfast buffet will be served. There you will find a collection of high-quality bread, homemade yoghurt, charcuteri and French cheeses, all served on hand-decorated Mexican crockery.

Breakfast & brunch:
The sumptuous organic breakfast buffet is a feature in all the Guldsmeden hotels and includes various types of high-quality bread, cakes, fruit, delicatessen and cheeses, as well as home-made yoghurt with vanilla and almonds. Breakfast is served on handmade Mexican crockery and can be enjoyed in our lovely heated courtyard or in our restaurant.

All rooms are non-smoking and are furnished and decorated in Guldsmedens signature Balinese style with many beautiful details, which give the rooms individuality and character.

Area information

Vesterbro - the former red light district:
During the last ten years Vesterbro has undergone a massive transformation and is no longer the bad neighbourhood where it was not entirely safe to go at night. Instead it is now an attractive and fashionable place to live and hang out.

Hang out at Halmtorvet:
On Halmtorvet, a former red light district in Copenhagen, a number of cafes and restaurants have opened during the last years and during summertime the sidewalks are crowded with tables of people sipping coffee.

Hip boutiques with unique clothing on Vesterbro:
Vesterbro, Copenhagen's former working class district, has become one of the city's most hip areas. The far end of Istedgade is a must for those seeking unusual fashion design. Many up-and-coming designers of clothing have established themselves with interesting boutiques and workrooms in the back. Parallel Vesterbrogade follows up with a number of good specialist shops.

The breakfast was great!

The heating did not work in our first room, when we told the staff, they let us change room and gave us a bottle of wine for the disconvenience, which was really great.

It was the most darling hotel. Large rooms with great decor. Very comfortable.

When you enter the hotel and go to the lobby you have the impression that the rooms aren't going to be very nice but in fact they are incredible. The only suggestion I would have is to have a little more option for brighter lights as I found the room a bit dark.

Very bad smoky smell in the building where my room was; the lifts looked like in a warehouse, but not as in a hotel/accommodation.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, quiet and looked over a courtyard. It was provided with a flat panel tv. The morning breakfast smorgasbord was delightful.

My "superior" single room had a balcony.

Hotel is somewhat hidden. Reception is on first floor, through a door controlled by telephone. It wasn't easy to find.

Everything. We had just spent the entire day traveling, and arrived in Copenhagen via bus at 5 am. When we made it into our room, we went from being stressed out and tired to happy and sleeping within about five minutes.

It is really a very nice surprise nice atmosphere clean beautiful room with a luxury feeling wooden floor everything very fresh and a wonderful breakfast worth the price and very important available and chap parking in the middle of Copenhagen - almost to good to be true
